The book "Montenegro between the mountains and the sea, landscape and biodiversity", in the production of which 37 experts participated, will be published on December 15, the "News" from the Agency for the Protection of Nature and Environment (EPA) announced.

"The nature of a country represents its greatest value and greatest resource for development. We are proud, and this book also shows that Montenegro is one of the richest countries in terms of landscape and biodiversity... Numerous types of flora, the world of fungi, numerous species of fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals, numerous landscape units on a very small piece of the Old Continent, which are presented in this book, clearly indicate that nature is the greatest Montenegrin resource. This is proven by the texts of almost 37 experts from various fields covering the nature of the sea and land of the country. In addition, this is confirmed by the photos that many lovers of the nature of Montenegro gave for this book for free", said the director of the EPA dr. Milan Gazdić.

According to him, the goal of the book, which is published on the 30th anniversary of the declaration of Montenegro as an ecological state, is to inform and draw attention to the enormous wealth of nature that needs to be preserved.

"More active and serious than before. Especially in the light of climate change, spontaneous urbanization, increasingly frequent fires and many other, by nature of Montenegro, threatening phenomena and activities. Almost all the texts of the experts who worked on this book ended with paragraphs warning about the threat of the natural world they were writing about. Therefore, this book warns that everything written in it should be urgently and seriously introduced into the framework of sustainable development and wise use of natural resources," he said.

The editor and editor of the publication is an ornithologist Darko Saveljic.

The EPA campaign "We give you a book, you give us nature", in which everyone who wants a copy of the bilingual edition about the landscapes and biodiversity of Montenegro, should bring a seedling of their choice to the Agency in return. Seedlings will be planted in hospital circles.
