The Director of the Public Company for National Parks of Montenegro (JPNPCG) Jelena Kljajević announced today that "ten days after the killing of a protected species of deer in the Biogradska Gora National Park, the question is rightly raised by all competent authorities regarding this criminal act against nature, in which is the stage of the processing of this case and how far it has come with establishing the identity of the poachers".
"We rightly wonder what the investigative authorities and the competent prosecutor's office are doing when the poachers left numerous traces. We do not want to believe that the police want to protect the son of one of their officers who participated in this crime, which is being talked about out loud in Kolašin and Berane. Key is the question, first of all, for the officers of the Police Administration in charge of investigating these cases and the competent prosecutor acting in these cases, why and until when there will be protected poachers who commit crimes in national parks," Kljajević pointed out.
She added that they reiterate that "JPNPCG is determined to stop poaching and all illegal activities in the areas of national parks, while expecting the full support of all entities that can contribute to more effective prevention of these illegal activities, both competent inspections, as well as police officers and competent prosecutor's office".
