With the motto "Struggles that continue", the Center for Civic Education (CGO) is organizing the 2021th edition of the Montenegrin human rights film festival Ubrzaj XNUMX in Podgorica, Berane and Kotor.
"Unlike last year's edition, which was realized in an online format, Festival Ubrzaj is returning to the halls. The central program of this year's edition will be held from December 11 to 15 at the Music Center and the Montenegrin Cinematheque in Podgorica, and the accompanying editions at the "Boka" Cinema in Kotor from December 12 to 13 and in the Cultural Center in Berane from December 14 to 15, 2021," announced the CGO.
They add that the festival traditionally brings only the premiere editions of the latest films, which have already managed to be presented and recognized at prestigious regional, European and world festivals.
In addition to the film screenings, an accompanying program is planned, in order to review certain films and update some of the pressing human rights issues.
"Festival Ubrzaj, affirming the universality of human rights, attracts a wide and heterogeneous audience, which gives it additional value in the Montenegrin polarized context. The focus on the modern concept of human rights through art makes the Festival a meeting place for the most diverse social actors, thus contributing to the establishment of a culture of human rights, tolerant and inclusive society," the announcement states.
This year's edition of the Festival was supported by the Ministry of Economic Development of Montenegro, the Embassy of Finland in Belgrade, UNDP as part of the Reform of the National Disability Assessment System project, the Municipality of Berane and the Municipality of Kotor.
Partners are BELDOCS, Sarajevo Film Festival and Montenegrin cinema.
