Pljevlja: 5.700 continental fruit seedlings distributed to around 150 agricultural producers

The Department of Agriculture of the Municipality of Pljevlja procured and distributed 5.700 seedlings of continental fruit to around 150 agricultural producers who applied for a public call that was previously announced by the local administration as part of the agro-budgetary measure "Support to the production of continental fruit".

The total value of the purchased seedlings is 12.000 euros, of which the municipality of Pljevlja bears half of the costs.

The municipality announced that the greatest interest was in plum seedlings - about 4.200 seedlings, apples - about 700 and pears - about 200 seedlings, while other fruit species were represented to a lesser extent.

The assortment was adapted to the interest of the producer, as well as to the climatic and other conditions that prevail in the Pljeval area.

The agricultural budget of the Municipality of Pljevlja for 2021 is planned in the amount of 317.800 euros and contains 23 support measures. The largest part, around 50 percent, refers to measures related to livestock production.

Other support measures relate to fruit, field, vegetable, organic production, beekeeping as well as other segments aimed at improving rural development and promoting agricultural production.
