In Montenegro, only seven prosecutor's offices are working at full capacity, while ten do not have the required number of prosecutors, the Center for Civil Liberties, the Center for Investigative Journalism and the weekly Monitor announced today.
They remind that, in order to fill the vacant positions, from the Supreme State Prosecutor onwards, it is necessary to elect the Prosecutor's Council, which has not been functioning for months.
As announced, the Special State Prosecutor's Office, the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje and the basic state prosecutor's offices in Bar, Kotor, Ulcinj, Pljevlja and Cetinje are working in full force.
In the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office, the position of the Supreme State Prosecutor and three positions of the State Prosecutor have not been filled.
In the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, they have a head of the prosecution, but two positions of state prosecutor are vacant.
In the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, the position of manager has not been filled, nor have the two positions of state prosecutor.
Four positions of state prosecutors are unfilled in Bjelopolje, and two in Nikšić ODT, while one position is unfilled in Basic Prosecutor's Offices in Berane, Rožaj, Herceg Novi, Plav and Kolašin.
