Future cooperation between Bangladeshis and Montenegro can take place not only on a bilateral level, but also on an international level in all areas covered by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, nurturing diversity and multiculturalism as values that characterize both countries.

This was announced at a meeting between the minister of that department, Vesna Bratić, and the newly appointed ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Montenegro, H.E. Shamim Ahsan.

On that occasion, Ahsan emphasized the historical connection between the two countries, on which future cooperation should be built, and that Bangladesh is a territorially small country, but that it is recognized as an example of good practice in many spheres.

One of them, as he said, is gender equality and the representation of women, not only in politics, but also in the entire education system, which he confirmed by the fact that the head of the Government and the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh is a woman and that it is the female population that is more dominant in attendance and achieving good results in primary and secondary schools.

The Ministry announced that the focus of the conversation was the system of higher education in Montenegro, as well as student exchange programs, and cooperation between the two countries on that basis.

Bratić announced that the study program in Montenegro is defined by the Bologna Declaration, according to whose standards study programs are implemented at all European universities, which implies the mobility of students and professors throughout Europe.

Ahsan placed special emphasis on the study program in English, which would enable greater mobility and provide an opportunity for students from Bangladesh to attend classes at the University of Montenegro.

Bratić agreed with the ambassador, adding that for now study programs in English are represented only in certain doctoral studies, but that MPNKS, in cooperation with the rector of the University of Montenegro, will work on accreditation and implementation of these programs in the shortest period of time.
