From December 10 to 12 in the village of Gornja Brezna, in Piva, 25 young people, among whom were members of the Roma-Egyptian population, attended a training camp organized by the Nikšić Red Cross municipal organization. The workshop was held as part of the project "Youth as initiators of changes in society".
"The goal of the project is to educate young people through workshops and practical knowledge so that they can continue with the same in rural and urban areas. In this way, they would include as many young people as possible in order to form youth-volunteer clubs in rural areas", said Goran Damjanović, coordinator of program activities in the Red Cross.
During the camp, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the Red Cross and diffusion, (non)discrimination and respect for diversity, active listening and empathy, social inclusion, non-violent communication and negotiation, critical thinking without judgment, and two films were shown. The lecturers were Miljana Ognjenović, Goran Damjanović, Nardi Ahmetović, Jelena Šofranac, Vojislav Glušćević, Vanja Kilibarda and Momčilo Filipović.
The project "Youth as initiators of changes in society" was supported by the Municipality of Nikšić in a public competition in the field of support of organizations for the implementation of activities of the Local Action Plan for youth.
