The coal mine will help a family from Pljevlja that is struggling these days to keep two little ones in their home - a brother and sister who, after their mother left them after giving birth, were placed in a foster family.
The executive director of Rudnik Uglja, Milan Lekić, said that they contacted the foster family and offered them "every kind of help".
"It is our obligation as a socially responsible company, which went out to meet our fellow citizens, but also a kind of human obligation of all of us. I use this opportunity to inform you that we will soon host the M family... in the premises of our company and, I believe, to find an adequate solution for their unenviable material situation," said Lekić in the announcement.
A family from Pljevlja previously adopted a boy from Beran who is now three and a half years old after he stayed with them in a foster family, and on December 6 they submitted a request for the adoption of his one year and four months younger sister, whom they have also been caring for since her birth. .
The Center for Social Work from Beran intended to separate the brother and sister, who were to be adopted by another family, but the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare stopped that procedure.
"The case of the foster family M..., which for days has been fighting for justice and the happiness of the adopted children, has not left any of us indifferent. Today's mass protest in support of the citizens of Pljevlja is another proof of the traditional solidarity and nobility of Pljevlja. The people of Pljevlja have always been big-hearted and awakened people. of conscience. To condition family happiness on her material status is senseless," said Lekić.
Several hundred citizens of Pljevlje gathered this morning in front of the building of the Center for Social Work in Pljevlje, asking the authorities not to separate brother and sister.
