The Parliament of Montenegro, in order to promote environmental policies, plans to build a solar power plant on the roof of the building, as well as to purchase electric powered vehicles, the parliament announced.
The Assembly said that, in order to promote Montenegro as an ecological country, they implemented and plan to implement numerous projects.
"After the recently completed fundamental adaptation of the central building, the construction of a solar power plant on the roof of the building is planned, as well as the purchase of electric vehicles," said the Assembly.
They stated that, in cooperation with the limited liability company /doo/ "Deponija", they created conditions for paper recycling in the main building and business premises of the Assembly.
As they said, the collected paper will be transported to the Recycling Center once a week.
"During the thorough adaptation of the central building of the parliament, special attention was paid to energy efficiency and sustainability, which aims to save a significant amount of electricity," said the Assembly.
They stated that by building a solar power plant, they will provide up to 45 percent of the annual electricity consumption.
The Assembly said that, through the purchase of electric vehicles, they intend to replace gasoline and diesel vehicles as soon as possible and influence the reduction of harmful gas emissions.
"The realization of the e-parliament project, which includes the digitization of the entire legislative process, as well as the option of electronic petitions and e-petitions, which will enable paper to be put out of use in the future," said the Assembly.
They said that promotion and respect for the value of environmental protection and ecological policies will be one of the priorities of the 27th convocation of the parliament.
