The debt of the Health Insurance Fund towards private pharmacies amounts to 7.591.411,22 euros, and the obligations towards them were paid at the end of June.
The FZO announced this yesterday and pointed out that it is not true that the debt is 12 million euros and that this debt arose due to alleged errors in that institution. "Vijesti" announced three days ago that the debt to pharmacies for dispensing prescription drugs will most likely amount to 12 million euros by the end of this year, which is why citizens also suffer because therapy is less available to them.
From that institution, neither this nor last month, they answered the questions regarding the debt to private pharmacies, its causes and when the payment of the invoices is expected from July.
Yesterday, the FZO said that in the budget for 2021, funds in the amount of 17 million were allocated to the position of supply of medicines and medical devices on prescription to private pharmacies, which was the amount of the record spending in this position last year.
They explained that, recognizing that the consumption of medicines is growing, they allocated more money for this purpose compared to the planned funds last year, although it was to be expected that the consumption would fall, given that vaccines against the coronavirus were acquired this year and mass vaccination was started.
The FZO claimed yesterday that they did not sit idly by, but this year issued a Public Call for which "for the first time the rules of the EU countries that treat this area were applied", which resulted in a reduction in the number of private pharmacies that dispense prescription drugs from around 190 to 120.
"Since October, when the number of private pharmacies dispensing prescription drugs was reduced, there has been no shortage of drugs, we have witnessed that there are no crowds in front of the pharmacies themselves... It is a gross manipulation that citizens suffer due to the implemented reforms, the full effect of which we expect in 2022 .... We are trying to strengthen Montefarm, and at the same time as this process, in partnership with the optimal number of private pharmacies, enable all insured persons easy, accessible and timely dispensing of prescription drugs. We are determined to protect the state and taxpayers' money and to raise the level of health care with that money, and in that intention we will not be swayed by any writings, for whatever reason and at anyone's persuasion", said the FZO.
The FZO also said that seven institutions for four areas responded to the invitation to submit offers to private institutions for services for which there is a waiting list longer than 30 days. They explained that 25.11. a decision was made to conclude a contract with one institution on the provision of services from two requested institutions, while four institutions filed appeals within the legal deadline. "Vijesti" has been waiting almost two months for the Fund's answer to the question regarding this public call.
