Environmental Protection Agency in cooperation with the Municipality of Ulcinj and NGO Dr. Martin Schneider-Jacoby Association - MSJA, with the support of Coca-Cola HBC Montenegro, realized today, as part of the "For a more beautiful and healthy Montenegro" campaign, the greening of Bulevar Teuta and part of Štoj - the road to Ada - Rogac.

1.200 seedlings were planted, namely indigenous species: holm oak (Quercus ilex), carob (Ceratonia siliqua) and oleander, as well as allochthonous (non-native) plants large-leaved magnolia and photinia

The vice-president of Ulcinj municipality, Hatidža Đoni, announced that she is very pleased to participate in this project, which significantly contributes to the preservation of the environment. "As a local self-government, we are always ready to support these projects and actively participate in them with our companies," Đoni said.

Through the action "For a more beautiful and healthy Montenegro" with the support of a large number of donors and friends, over 5.500 seedlings have been planted throughout the country.

V. d. Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Dr. Milan Gazdić, said that this action will be continued next year as well. "When it comes to Ulcinj, in addition to today's action, we covered almost the entire municipality of Ulcinj with the Natura 2000 network last year, and next year we will work on the protection of the Valdanos area and that will be our priority," said Gazdić.

Today's action was supported by the donation of seedlings and the company Coca-Cola HBC Montenegro. Tisa Čaušević, manager of public and regulatory affairs at Coca-Cola HBC Serbia and Montenegro, said that this company pays a lot of attention to sustainability in business, both at the global and local levels, where they are mostly focused on environmental protection, which is an extremely complex area and all issues require intersectoral cooperation.

"I am happy that we have all been brought together from different sectors by an initiative like this, with which we are giving away about 1.200 seedlings to the citizens and the municipality of Ulcinj, which will not only further beautify the city, but also affect more new oxygen, cleaner air and the general fight against climate change" , announced Čaušević.

Executive Director Dr. Martin Schneider-Jacoby Association-MSJA Zenepa Lika thanked the partners for choosing Ulcinj for the greening campaign.

"This is a specific area, because on one side we have the Ulcinj field, once the lungs of the city, and on the other side Đerana, so we are creating a small green oasis in between. I am also glad that high school students from the "Brotherhood and Unity" school joined the action, because our youth see the need for such activities. Green areas and parks are not only that - they are also places for socialization, exchange of ideas and a better and higher quality life", said Lika.

The employees of the Environmental Protection Agency, the local utility company, Coca-Cola volunteers, as well as students of the Department of Environment - Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology and students of the gymnasium from Ulcinj participated in the planting action.
