The President of the Montenegrin Parliament, Aleksa Bečić, said that he will propose that the actress Vesna Pećanac get Montenegrin citizenship.
"With particular pleasure, I will propose that Vesna Pećanac, a prominent actress and wife of the famous director Živko Nikolić, get Montenegrin citizenship, if Mrs. Pećanac wants it," said Bečić.
He added that the artists who enriched the lives of numerous generations from Montenegro and the region deserve a dignified life.
"The artists who enriched and made the lives of numerous generations from Montenegro and the region more beautiful with their gift deserve a dignified life and a special relationship from our country, whose name they made famous far beyond our borders," Bečić wrote on his Twitter profile.
The leader of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević sent an initiative to Bečić earlier today for the admission of Pećans to Montenegrin citizenship.
