The Center for Civic Education (CGO) announced today that it "condemns the insulting of Draginja Vuksanović Stanković by Jovan Markuš, a member of the National Commission for UNESCO".
The Women's Club of the Parliament of Montenegro announced earlier today that Markuš insulted the deputy of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Draginja Vuksanović Stanković, with mundane and primitive vocabulary.
"This is not the first time that MP Vuksanović Stanković has been the target of misogynistic attacks. Because of this, the Government of Montenegro would have to dismiss Markus at the first session of the next session," the statement of the CGE points out.
The non-governmental organization (NGO) added that they expect a clear and public position, first of all, from the Prime Minister of Montenegro Zdravko Krivokkapić, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vesna Bratić and Minister Sergej Sekulović, who is also the coordinator of the Ministry of Justice. , human and minority rights.
"Their silence could be interpreted as support for sexist attacks and hate speech that are beginning to be part of everyday practice towards women in the socio-political sphere who have their own opinion. It is especially worrying when representatives of the government are behind this," the CGO statement concludes.
