The National Parks of Montenegro - Skadar Lake National Park received a valuable donation, a vessel and an outboard motor, thanks to the non-governmental organization "Noé", as part of the project "Empowerment of local communities and stakeholders in the sustainable management of the biodiversity of Skadar Lake", financed by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund and the French Development Agency.

"The donation to Skadar Lake National Park is very important in improving the protection of the pelican nesting colony. "Thanks to the new means, the vessel and the outboard motor, the functionality of pelican protection and the operation of the Park Protection Service will increase in order to preserve the overall values of the protected area," said NPCG director Aleksandar Bulatović.

On this occasion, the NPCG highlighted the excellent, long-standing cooperation with the NGO Noé and the coordinator of the project in Montenegro, Bjanka Prakljačić, who, as announced, showed a strong commitment to the implementation of activities within this project through her efforts and efforts.

"At the same time, we expect that the new management will continue good cooperation and communication in the coming period in order to realize the planned activities, not only with this NGO, but also with all entities that contribute to the improvement of the protection of this unique area," concluded Bulatović.

Prakljačić said that "the formation of the so-called 'pelican patrol' is very important for the preservation of the curly pelican colony, whose disturbance during the nesting period results in the loss of eggs and young pelicans. I hope that this vessel and the outboard motor will enable safer nesting of pelicans and improve the protection of Lake Skadar."

The handover of the donation took place today in the NP Skadarsko jezero near the Administrative Building in Vranjina.
