This is stated in the proposal of the Decision on the termination of the mandate of the President of the Municipality, which will be on the agenda of the session scheduled for the last day of January.
In the explanation, it is stated that Smolović's mandate ends due to the expiration of the time for which he was elected.
"Article 55 of the Law on Local Self-Government stipulates that the President of the Municipality is elected for a period of four years. Article 61 paragraph 1 of the same Law prescribes that the mandate of the President of the Municipality ends at the end of the term for which he was elected, by dismissal by the Assembly, dismissal by the Government, by submission of resignation or by force of law", he writes in the explanation and states that Smolović was elected by the decision of the Municipal Assembly 31 1. 2018

"In the elections for the election of councilors in the Bijelo Polje Municipality Assembly, which will be held in 2022, 37 councilors will be elected. Article 3 of the Law on the Election of Councilors and Members of Parliament stipulates that 30 councilors and one councilor for every 5.000 voters are elected to the Assembly of the Municipality, the Capital City and the Capital City. The number of councilors is determined by the Municipal Assembly by a special decision, no later than the day the election is announced.
