Saltworks workers received 1,5 out of a 300.000 million debt

The workers of the Ulcinj Saltworks are considering the possibility of filing a criminal complaint against the bankruptcy administrator Žarko Ostojić due to the non-fulfillment of their obligations to them as first-order creditors, a worker's representative confirmed to "Vijesta". Veselin Mitrović.

He said that the correct information presented by Ostojić at the Parliamentary Commission for Monitoring and Control of Privatization Procedures is that the workers have been paid almost 300.000 euros in four years.

"But that is far from the 1,2 million euros, which is still owed to us," Mitrović said.

According to Mitrović, 70 former and current employees of Solana, individually in writing, recently addressed the President of the Commercial Court Blaža Jovanić, to the bankruptcy judge Dragan Vucevic and Ostojić, resenting the unpaid money from the sale of scrap iron, small inventory, fixed assets and rolling stock in August 2020 and from the sale of the packing plant in December of the same year.

"The answer came only from judge Vučević. He answered everyone with the same text, which, to paraphrase, can be reduced to the sentence that the bankruptcy administrator is independent of the court. Jovanić and Ostojić didn't deserve us an answer", said Mitrović.

He pointed out that the workers suspect that the packaging plant, which was sold for 42 thousand euros, ended up in Nikšić as scrap metal, as claimed by Ostojić.

"We believe that it was sold somewhere in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a functional unit," Mitrović said.

Ostojić previously confirmed to "Vijesta" that the packaging plant was sold for 42 thousand euros to the Nikšić company "Centar za reciklažu", which, according to the website, is one of the leading Montenegrin companies for the collection, processing and distribution of metal waste, as well as internal and external trade. He then said that Solana bought the packaging machine as a used one in Italy.

Mitrović said that the workers did not even get an answer to the question of whether and when the meeting of the creditors' committee was held, since the law prescribes it.
