The assessment of the effectiveness and capacity of parliaments in performing post-legislative supervision (PZN), and the strengthening of existing mechanisms through the continuation of the project of the Parliament of Montenegro and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (VFD), is the reason for today's meeting between the Secretary General of the Assembly, Aleksandar Klarić, and the representative of the VFD, Ana Milutinović. , director of the office in Montenegro, Ivan Radojević, regional program manager and Danijela Božović, program coordinator.
As stated in the announcement, the project is implemented within the regional parliamentary initiative.
"The project envisages that the Parliament of Montenegro in the coming period will test the prepared parliamentary and legislative indicators for PZN, that is, in cooperation with the independent expert of the VFD, conduct a self-assessment of the fulfillment of the aforementioned indicators," the Assembly said.
As they state, Klarić introduced the interlocutors to the work priorities of that institution "which include strengthening the legislative and control functions of the parliament, further improvement of transparency and openness of work, as well as continuous strengthening of administrative capacities."
In the announcement, Klarić emphasized that this project will be an opportunity "to look at the state of post-legislative supervision, which is of particular importance for further strengthening the effectiveness of existing instruments of parliamentary supervision and strengthening the legislative role of parliament."
"Representatives of the VFD pointed to excellent cooperation with the Parliament of Montenegro, and highlighted its capacities for leading the piloting process and implementing the post-legislative monitoring process.
