The commission for checking the validity of educational documents of police officers is composed of competent officers and full transparency of its work is expected, said the state secretary in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zoran Miljanić, at the constitutive session of that body, of which he is the president.

The Ministry of Interior announced that the goal of the commission, formed on January 18, is a detailed check of all suspicious diplomas, without privileges or exceptions. If irregularities are found, police officers will be prosecuted before the competent prosecutor's office, said the department.

At the session on January 24, Miljanić said that the commission's goal is a comprehensive check of existing diplomas.

"All information about potentially falsified diplomas provided to the media from other sources will be checked in detail by the Commission. Depending on the needs, the Commission will consult with representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the Employment Office, as well as other relevant institutions that can contribute to more efficient work," the MUP press release states.

They said that the priority is to check the diplomas of high school students, and the plan is to check the diplomas of secondary schools.

Applications for verification of the validity of diplomas can be submitted to the Commission via email provjera.diploma@mup.gov.me or telephone 020/202-880. The Commission guarantees anonymity to all who submit applications.
