In the coming period, 100 new semi-underground containers will be installed in Podgorica.
This was announced by Mayor Ivan Vuković, who visited the city company "Čistoća", which implements the project called "100 for a cleaner city".
"During the term of office of the current city administration, we have invested significant funds in order to improve the state of communal infrastructure in Podgorica. One important segment of that story relates to the infrastructure that serves for proper disposal and later treatment of waste. I am pleased to state that last year we finished with a figure of 243 semi-underground containers in all parts of the city, and at the end of 2021 we implemented a new tender worth 500.000 euros, which will enable us to install 100 additional semi-underground containers", said Vuković, and reminded that by providing this type of communal equipment, the state of hygiene in the city is improved, and in the long term, conditions are created for an adequate recycling process.
Vuković said that the capital continuously invests in the provision of new, modern equipment, i.e. in everything that makes it easier for the valuable teams of this city company to carry out their daily activities, and announced the purchase of a truck worth 180.000 euros, as well as new electric tricycles.
"This is an opportunity, in addition to being able to express my satisfaction because, based on this project, we are significantly improving the already good condition of the communal infrastructure in the city, to thank these hardworking people who, every day, in an extremely high-quality way, do important work for the capital city ", concluded Vuković.
The director of "Čistoća" Andrija Čađenović thanked the administration of the Capital City for their support and emphasized the importance of the "100 for a cleaner city" project.
"A total of 92 containers with a volume of 5 cubic meters, five containers with a volume of 3 cubic meters and 3 dedicated containers for storing dry and wet fractions were purchased. The fact that one semi-underground container with a volume of 5 cubic meters replaces 5 above-ground containers speaks of the importance of the acquired utility equipment from the Finnish manufacturer Molok, which is one of the best in the world," said Čađenović and pointed out that, through each project of procurement of this type of utility equipment, the company 'Molok' provided a specific donation.
This time, the donation from our partners is a container for the disposal of municipal and plant waste, and it will be the first such container to be installed on the territory of the capital city".
The director of "Čistoća" once again appealed to the citizens to take care of this extremely expensive equipment.
"Last year we were faced with numerous cases of devastation, i.e. over 20.000 euros in costs for replacing certain components, so I would once again ask that we all take care of this equipment together because it is for the benefit of all the citizens of Podgorica", said Čađenović.
