ND Vijesti and Television Vijesti organized a donor evening for the children of Ukraine called "Give us back our dreams".

Among the dignitaries who responded to our initiative were representatives of the diplomatic corps, state institutions, business elite and political parties.

The executive director of "Vijesti" Marijana Bojanić pointed out that we sympathize most deeply with all refugees and that we want to give them a helping hand, and as much as possible try to give them a saving hand.

"When we wrote the invitation for tonight's gathering, over a million refugees, mostly women and children, left their homes and went to seek salvation from the war. To date, that number has grown to more than two million. For us at "Vijesti", this is not just a number that we will put in the reports," Bojanić said.

She added that several families found their hiding place from the whirlwind of war in Montenegro, and that the event was attended by part of the team that helped them come to our country. "There are Rade and Ivan, whose venture we reported a few days ago..."

The Ukrainian embassy recalled that on February 24, Russian troops attacked Ukraine, "after which a furious full-scale war began."

Their message was read, given that they could not attend the event.

"The armed forces of Ukraine are fighting fiercely, repelling the attacks of the Russian army throughout our country, innocent people are dying, cities are being destroyed, and this is happening today, in the 21st century, in a democratic state located in the heart of Europe. The embassy supports and expresses its gratitude on your initiative, which will help the citizens of Ukraine at this difficult time," their address states.

The entire income collected through donations will be paid to the official giro account of the Embassy of Ukraine in Montenegro.
