The capital has announced a tender for the insurance and registration of official vehicles, worth 36.190 euros, and among the four-wheelers that need this service is the three-thousand cubic meter Range Rover jeep, which the city authorities have been unsuccessfully trying to sell for years.

That jeep is the former mayor Slavoljub Stijepović taken from the Protection and Rescue Service, and bought by the former fire chief Radomir Pješčić.

The car was purchased in 2011, via leasing from the then "Hipo alpe adria" bank for 71.692 euros.

In 2011, Commander Pješčić defended the decision to purchase such an expensive car at a time when the allowance for difficult working conditions was reduced and completely abolished for the employees of that service by saying that they only chose the most favorable bidder in the tender according to the specifications of the service vehicle. was necessary for "all field actions".

Pješčić did not see any sensation or secret in the purchase of a special and very expensive jeep, considering that such a vehicle is only for the good of the city and its citizens, and that its value cannot in any way be linked to the salaries of employees.

The purchase of the expensive vehicle was also condemned by the representatives of the two trade unions operating within the Protection Service, stating that the firefighters do not have personal equipment for firefighting interventions and others, and that the money should have been spent on the purchase of equipment.

After the vehicle was taken from Pješčić, the Capital tried to sell it for 39.000 euros the first time, but without success, and they did not succeed in doing so the next few times, and the price dropped to 31.000.

The money from the sale of vehicles, as previously announced to "Vijesta" from the PG Bureau, was supposed to be used for the implementation of projects for which there is currently not enough money in the city budget.

It is not known whether the city authorities still intend to sell this car, because it has not been advertised for a long time.

The capital has over 80 official vehicles, most of which are quite old.

Among the newest are ten "Kia Rio" from 2019, two spider vehicles and five off-road "Daćija Sandero", which were purchased in 2017 through a tender, for the needs of the Municipal Inspection.

However, there are also vehicles that are several decades old, such as the "fapova" tank truck, which was produced in 1975.

Bids for the tender are submitted electronically by March 30, and the opening will be organized on the same day.
