Presented measures for the improvement of the freshwater fishing sector

On Wednesday, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management held a presentation of the Agricultural Budget for the measure to improve the freshwater fishing sector in Vranjina in the premises of the Skadar Lake National Park.

The Ministry announced that commercial fishermen from Lake Skadar had the opportunity to be informed about support through the agro-budget line for the improvement of commercial fishing on Lake Skadar.

"The beneficiary of incentives is a business company, entrepreneur or individual, who is the holder of a valid license for commercial fishing, issued by the Skadar Lake National Park and held in the previous two-year period," the announcement states.

It is added that the fishermen are also familiar with the investments that are supported, the necessary documentation for obtaining support, the dynamics of implementation and the way of submitting requests for support.

"In addition to co-financing the costs of purchasing a new engine, fishing tools and equipment, and the purchase of an ice machine, the novelty of this year is that the purchase of a new fishing vessel is also supported," said the Ministry.

The maximum amount of budget funds is up to 50 percent of the value of invoices issued, a maximum of three thousand euros, which has increased compared to last year. The criteria for support will be defined by a public call.

"In order to improve the access waterways on Lake Skadar, and at the request of local governments, the Ministry introduced a new measure to facilitate fishing for fishermen through support to local governments for the development and maintenance of waterways on Lake Skadar, for which it allocated 20 thousand euros" , said the Ministry.

On March 11, representatives of the Ministry held presentations of the Agricultural budget for the improvement of the freshwater fishing sector in the municipal hall in Golubovci and Tuzi.
