The Municipality of Bjelopolje prepared an analysis of the justification for the replacement of the existing LED lighting, worth around 800.000 euros.

Officials state that they expect to save around 80.000 euros annually after installing LED lighting.

When exactly the works will start depends on the tender, and the installation of LED lighting is planned to be completed next year.

The Secretary of the Secretariat for Housing, Communal Affairs and Traffic, Dejan Luković, said that an elaboration of the justification for the replacement of the existing lighting was made, a tender was announced and a contractor was chosen for the main project, based on which they will announce the call for the selection of the most favorable bidder.

The lighting design is planned in the 2017 Spatial Planning Program.

"A total of 1.650 lamps will be replaced, complete lighting in the municipality... The main project defines that photometric measurements should be carried out, in order to determine the similarity with daylight before installation".

Luković states that the Municipality is looking for an investor who will be paid for the work of replacing the lamp on the basis of electricity savings, in a period that will be defined by the tender.

"The municipality pays about 126.000 euros annually, and according to estimates, the savings by installing LED lighting is up to 70 percent."
