"The first or most important obstacles on our way to achieving our goal are still in our heads. Fear? Shame? Thinking about risks and dangers. There is no school subject that deals with it. And we deal with that. We are opening up possibilities", said Radoje Cerović, a psychologist and communication specialist who, during a two-day training session, told unemployed young people from Nikšić how to improve soft, i.e. personal, skills and the ability to communicate.
The training was organized by Help, as part of a project focused on supporting the activation of unemployed young people. After the training, participants will receive free three-month individual mentoring.
"With the help of unique exercises and mutual communication with other participants, the workshop enabled me to learn to overcome stressful situations, control my emotions and direct them in the right way in a relatively short time. Understanding myself and my limits and getting out of my comfort zone, and improving communication, are the most important things I've learned and I will benefit immensely from them, both in employment and throughout my life," said Igor Mijušković, one of the training participants.
The training was preceded by a motivational workshop, and representatives of the Center for Social Work and the Employment Institute of Montenegro from Nikšić participated in the candidate selection process, as well as the mentor for Nikšić, Šavnik and Plužine, Marina Došen.
"With the support and help of experts in the field of employment and social protection, we will motivate and help young, unemployed people, so that, in addition to regularly reporting to the bureau and job ads, they can take one more step and work on themselves and building their business profile, in order to were more easily imposed on employers and the labor market", said Došen.
The project "Work activation of social protection beneficiaries", funded by UNDP, is focused on supporting the activation of unemployed youth in several Montenegrin municipalities: in Podgorica, Tuzi, Golubovci, Plužine, Šavnik, Bijelo Polje, Ulcinj, Bar, Rožaj and Nikšić.
