Instead of a pleasant walk in the first days of spring, the citizens of Bijelo Polje are greeted by large quantities of plastic bags, various garbage and construction waste on the banks of the Lim River, which was also pointed out by the civil sector these days. According to several anglers, the discharge of white liquid into the waters of the river has also been noticeable in recent days.
Dragan Šekularac, water inspector of the Directorate for Inspection Affairs, confirmed that "in recent days, there have been frequent accidents on the Lima watercourse in that municipality, with the release of liquid of unknown content and origin, and that they all ended without a legal epilogue for only one reason."
"Because it is impossible to carry out quick sampling", said Šekularac.
In mid-March, he visited several locations of the Lima watercourse, in the territory of the municipality of Bijelo Polje, and on that occasion noted that no changes in the watercourse, which could be observed visually, were noticed on the Lima watercourse.
"Around 16:12 p.m. on March XNUMX, after the inspection was completed, I was informed by the NGO 'Euromost' that in part of the city zone, a discharge of whitish liquid was noticed from the collector pipe, for which photos were provided," he said.
In communication with the Center for Ecotoxicological Testing (CETI), he explains, he was informed that, considering the time of the weekend, and that the teams are not in the field, it takes a lot of time to organize and send the team on a tour. In the meantime, the flow of liquid from the pipe has stopped.
Šekularac points out that the problem of pollution in Bijelo Polje cannot be solved with quality until a laboratory is opened or a team is formed that would go to the field in a short period of time and carry out sampling and in this way make it possible to discover the perpetrator, and initiate administrative or judicial proceedings against him. procedure.
Šekularac submitted the documentation to the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje for further processing.
These days, a large amount of construction waste was delivered to the coast of Lima, which was pointed out by "Euromost", under the municipal company Vodovod Bistrica.
"The waste comes from the city center, where, as announced by the investors HD Invest and DS Invest, they removed the old building located there from the place where they are building a residential and commercial space and deposited it on the shore of Lim. The two companies announced that they hired EZ to remove the old building, but that they did not expect to deliver it to the coast of Lima, but to the designated landfill.
However, instead of removing the waste, after reporting that NGO to the competent authorities, these days the wild dump is just covered with earth", said the NGO.
The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje announced that on March 29, immediately after the report, a case was opened on the same day regarding the disposal of construction waste on the coast of Lim.
"The prosecution submitted a request to the Security Center in Bijelo Polje to collect the necessary information. It was also ordered to hire an inspector from the Directorate for Inspection Affairs for Environmental Protection. After taking action, the officials of the Security Center will submit to the Prosecutor's Office the collected notices and the report of the inspector of the said Directorate", reads the reply to the News from ODT.
