Yesterday, members of the Marine Police Unit found two people poaching with a generator on Lake Skadar, who escaped during the intervention.
The police officers, however, identified them and seized 220 kilograms of caught fish in the Plavnička River, they told "Vijesta" from the NGO Carp Security Group - Šaranžije.
They point out that they expect an adequate reaction from the competent prosecutor's office, because the situation on Lake Skadar is alarming, mainly thanks to poachers and employees of the Lake Skadar National Park, who are not suppressing the death of fish.
"If it weren't for the Naval Unit, the two poachers, who have been destroying the fish stock for years, would have committed crimes again 'unnoticed'. We believe that the prosecution, at least now, will find the strength to prosecute them, because they 'got away with it' several times, for us for inexplicable reasons," said that NGO.
They thanked the Watercraft Unit of the Police Administration.
