Director of the Police Administration (UP) Zoran Brđanin met today with the director of the NGO Parents, Kristina Mihailović.
The focus of the meeting, as stated in the UP announcement, was the topic of peer violence and violence in general among school-age children, "which should be given continuous attention, especially in the part of investigating the causes, and not only when specific negative consequences occur."
The meeting was also attended by the head of the group for search activity, suppression of juvenile delinquency and domestic violence, Snežana Vujović.
The announcement states that it was agreed to organize joint meetings in the coming period with representatives of other departments of the state in whose jurisdiction these issues are, "in order to ensure a better application of the existing regulations, but also to agree on the necessary steps in their improvement."
"This meeting was an occasion to discuss the cooperation so far, but also to consider the model of future cooperation between the police and this organization. The interlocutors agreed that this problem must be approached systematically, and that it is necessary to strengthen cooperation at all levels, from policy makers to their application by the police, centers for social work, schools and parents," the announcement reads.
