Removal of trees after the fire in Gorica: The capital pays a private contractor because "Zelenilo" is not responsible

The capital entrusted the private company "Irmark company" from Podgorica with the removal of trees that were "eaten" by a large fire in June last year on the hill of Gorica.

The job worth almost 10.000 euros was won by the company that was founded in June last year at the Capital City tender. Irena Marković, whose activity is "other unmentioned specific construction works".

"Having in mind the need to remove burned material from a large area, both due to the plan for further planting, and due to preventive activities aimed at preventing the occurrence of new fires, the representatives of the Commission proposed to engage a company that can do the same for a short period of time. We would like to remind you that the company "Zelenilo" is responsible for the arrangement and maintenance of public green areas, design, implementation, and nursery production. This company implements activities based on the work plan, which includes the construction of new and the arrangement of existing green areas, parks, and playgrounds. In this particular case, and as you could see for yourself, it is an extraordinary situation that is not part of the regular plan of activities and requires additional involvement", they stated from the Capital City in their answers to the question of "Vijesti" why this work was not entrusted to the company "Zelenilo ".

Member of the KOD organization Vuk Iković he assessed that "Zelenilo" is responsible for the management of green areas in the capital city.

"That management means maintaining and removing some of those difficulties. Among other things, if the balance of the park is disturbed by one fire, then 'Zelenilo' would be obliged, if not alone, then with the Protection and Rescue Service, to remove the damaged trees, so that the disease does not develop, so that it does not spread to healthy trees. Citizens have already paid them because they receive funds for the maintenance, management and improvement of green areas from the Capital City budget. If we have a situation where a tender is now being announced, which will provide additional funds for the removal of burnt trees, this means that we are paying the Capital City twice for the same work. It is paid twice to improve the condition of the park-forest of Gorica", said Iković.
