Terić evicted, left without a roof over his head: "If it wasn't for my neighbor, I would burn down the shack"

Public executor Maja Ajković, with the assistance of the police, implemented the court decision and evicted seventy-year-old Vas Terić from the apartment in the shack in "Vuka Mićunovića" Street, in the Rastoci neighborhood of Nikšić.

Although the eviction was scheduled for ten o'clock, the executor and the police came before nine and entered the apartment while Terić was staying with the neighbors.

Soon the neighbors gathered, Terić also came, but the police did not allow them to approach the apartment.

"I lost my job 30 years ago, I didn't have 15 years of work experience, so I didn't even get the minimum wage. Now someone throw me out on the street. I am here illegally, like everyone else, but all out of necessity. Now I have nowhere to go. I stayed on the street, where they throw things out. Let them throw things out, I'll be there," said Terić after moving out.

He said that he would sleep in front of the shack, and he also said that he didn't have any other neighbors to set the shack on fire.

The executor tried to evict Terić the day before, but the neighbors did not allow it.

The same fate awaits ten more families, who filed an appeal due to the eviction, while Terić did not do so because he had no money.

"A couple of people from our town collected money to pay Vasu a lawyer and file a counterclaim, to pay him all the money that the man invested here from Sab Securiti. The lawyer has already submitted the lawsuit. The executor came at 8.40:11 a.m., brought a cordon of police and did not want to listen to us. She did not bring any of the tenants into the house, but listed the things herself. We call on the competent institutions to help the man who has been sitting on the sidewalk for five hours, because all XNUMX of us here are facing the same fate," said Terić's neighbor, Dragana Davidović.

The neighbors reacted very violently when the bailiff and the people who changed the lock left Terić's apartment, but the police responded.

Requests for eviction arrived at the addresses of 11 families, mostly former employees of Prvoborac, who moved into temporary facilities in the Rastoci settlement in 1994, based on, as they claim, a verbal agreement with the company's management at the time.

The company went bankrupt, and Novi Prvoborac was founded, which acquired ownership rights over the land based on the right to use it in 2020.

That company, according to the tenants of the barracks, sold the land of almost six thousand square meters to the company Sab Securiti from Herceg Novi for 190 thousand euros, which last year concluded a preliminary purchase agreement with the company Agrologistika.

The barracks, which served as dormitories for the workers from Kosovo, were in extremely bad condition, so the tenants had to invest money to make them more tidy. They repeatedly appealed to Novi Prvoborec, the legal successor of the company that was in bankruptcy, to issue them a decision based on which they can live in temporary facilities, but, as they claim, they were told that they could not help them because the facilities were temporary, and municipal land.

The President of the Municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, received the representatives of the tenants of the shacks and explained to them that in all the previous procedures concerning their case, the Municipality used all legal remedies and that they no longer have anything at their disposal when it comes to that area .

"We bear no responsibility when it comes to this situation, nor do we have any obligations or rights to influence anything. However, just as we, as a responsible local self-government, helped everyone, we will help them as much as possible. We will react when it comes to Terić. It is indeed a difficult situation. These are specific examples, such as a settlement like Trudbenik or this one. People are losing roofs over their heads for many years and we have a slightly greater moral obligation to help than in these regular situations. It will not be a rule that we work with everyone in the same way, but in these cases we will help", said Kovačević.
