The beginning of the tourist season was officially marked today in the Biogradska Gora National Park (NP).
Tourists, it was announced, will have at their disposal a visitor center, an educational path around the lake, a children's playground, bungalows for staying and overnight accommodation, boats, a national restaurant...
The start of the season also means that sport fishing is allowed on Lake Biograd.
Aleksandar Bulatović, director of JP National Parks of Montenegro, said that they expect a good visit during the irregular months.
According to him, "the diverse offer of Biogradska gora is always the recognition of what Montenegro can do in terms of tourism".
The director of NP Biogradska gora, Marija Dulović, recalled the history of that protected area.
"For a long time, there has been a strongly articulated awareness of the importance of the natural values of this area, of the value of the nature reserve, of how rich Montenegro is with it. Thanks to the local enthusiasm of the local population, the Park has remained one of the most preserved oases and the last rainforest in Europe. I wish to emphasize that all our results and successes in the management of NP Biogradska gora depend on the established cooperation and trust with the local population and competent state authorities", she said.
Dulović also spoke about the importance of the Park Protection Service "whose members are on the ground 365 days a week and who, through their efforts, have preserved the furniture and prevented any devastation of the area."
The official opening of the tourist season was enhanced by the performance of the singing group "Đude", which operates within the KUD Mijat Mašković.
Due to the bad weather, the official start of the tourist season in the NP was not marked by a mass visit, as was usual in previous years.
