Fejzić: Ramadan taught us to preserve and appreciate the blessings that God showers us with, and the greatest gift is the gift of peace

The head of the Islamic community in Montenegro, Rifat Fejzić, congratulated all believers on the day of Eid al-Fitr.

"Dear brothers and sisters, Ramadan was an opportunity to cleanse our hearts and return to the primordial nature, in order to reflect on our core, find primordial goodness and mercy and, as such, spread it in the community to which we belong.

Bajram is a day of joy and happiness, because man has emerged as a victor over that which draws him to mundaneness and humiliation. We have shown and proved to ourselves that we are capable of establishing a balance between the spiritual and the material, between the desires of the soul and the body.

Eid is a real opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the Lord, to become better, and to spread love in the community where we live. This joy should be felt by our neighbors and friends, followers of other religions, all people around the planet wherever Eid is celebrated.

Dear friends, respected neighbors and fellow citizens, Ramadan has taught us to preserve and appreciate the blessings with which the dear God showers us. And the greatest gift to a community is the gift of peace. Peace is the foundation for mutual respect and the development of healthy youth, stable families and a just and prosperous state. And while we look at television screens and social networks covered with images of destroyed cities, villages and countries; column of refugees and crying orphans, let us thank God for the grace of peace.

Ramadan iftars reminded us that in the race for material goods and our own careers, we neglected the blessing of family. And if the family is sick, the disease is felt by all parts of the community. That is why, as a society, we should pay more attention to the protection and preservation of family values ​​and the prevention of domestic violence, which is on the rise.

In these Eid days, I invite the faithful to remember the displaced, the weak, the disenfranchised and the sick in their prayers. To all believers in Montenegro, the diaspora, the world, I congratulate the days of Eid al-Fitr, Bajram sherif mubarek olsun," said Fejzić.
