MCP: The proposal for a meeting between Porfiri and Abazović came from the Prime Minister's Office, a possible meeting in Ostrog

The Metropolitanate of Montenegrin Primorska (MCP) announced today that the proposal for a meeting between Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazović and Serbian Patriarch Porfiri came from the Prime Minister's Office.

The news announced earlier today that tomorrow (Thursday, April 12) Porfirije will attend the celebration of the feast of Saint Basil of Ostrog in Nikšić, and that according to unofficial information, a meeting with Abazović is also possible.

"Regarding the information in the media about the possible meeting between Serbian Patriarch Porfiri and Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, we inform the public that the proposal came from the Prime Minister's Office, which announced his intention to meet with the Patriarch in the Government of Montenegro. The Metropolis replied that on the occasion organization of the celebration, the arrival of His Holiness the Patriarch of Serbia Mr. Porfirij in Podgorica is not planned, and due to the lack of time it is possible to organize the meeting only in the Ostrog monastery. The Prime Minister's Office accepted this proposal with a request to issue a formal invitation, which was done." it is emphasized in the press release of the MCP.
