Adžić: There was no political will to shed light on the crime of deportation of Bosnian refugees

In the past three decades, there was no political will or willingness in Montenegro to accept the crime of deportation of Bosnian-Herzegovinian refugees, call it by its real name and shed light on it, said Interior Minister Filip Adžić.

Today, he attended a memorial gathering to commemorate 30 years since the deportation of Bosnian-Herzegovinian refugees from Montenegro in 1992, organized by Human Rights Action (HRA), Center for Civic Education (CGO) and ANIMA - Center for Women's and Peace Education .

As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Adžić laid flowers in front of the Herceg Novi Security Center, paid tribute to the innocent victims and said that he deeply regrets their suffering and sympathizes with the pain of their families and friends.

"Unfortunately, in the past three decades, there was no political will or willingness to accept this crime and call it by its right name, and to shed light on it. Regardless of the circumstances at the time, none of the perpetrators should be absolved of responsibility," Adžić said. .

He said that, as the first minister of the interior who responded to the invitation of the organizers to attend the memorial gathering in front of the Herceg Novi Security Center, he supports the erection of a memorial at that place.

"I consider it not only a professional, but above all a human and moral obligation," Adžić said.
