Locals of Veruša, Lijeva Rijeka, Opasanica, Bukumirski Jezera, Han Garančić, Tuza Ljevorečki and Uvač have announced a protest for Sunday at ten o'clock, because it is not known when the road will be built, which would connect these settlements with the loop for access to the highway.
As they announced, the gathering will be at 10 a.m. at the sports field in Verusha.
Locals have repeatedly complained to "Vijesta" that there is no exit or connection to their settlements from the highway route, so they have to travel 15 kilometers longer to get on or off that road.
A resident of Veruša Svetozar Orovic he said that the place has a large number of houses and cottages, and that the connection to the highway is 15 kilometers away and that it is too far.
"Lijeva Rijeka is a little closer, but that is a problem that needs to be solved. The local roads are bad and from the passing of heavy trucks they have deteriorated further. I inquired about who might be in charge of it, but could not come up with any information. "Monteput" told me that they are not competent, and the Traffic Administration did not know about this problem either," Orović stated.
Residents of the area have repeatedly warned that the roads are in a catastrophic condition.
The Ministry of Capital Investments previously informed "Vijesta" that "according to the provisions of the Spatial Plan of Montenegro, the construction of a new regional road is planned from the Veruša interchange to the Veruša settlement and further towards Gusinje".
In order to ensure the connection of the "Veruša" interchange to the settlement of the same name, they explained, in the previous period it was agreed in the communication with the Capital City of Podgorica that the Capital City should proceed with the reconstruction of the local road in order to provide a temporary connection with the highway at the "Veruša" interchange, i.e. enabled the unhindered traffic of locals who gravitate to the locality in question.
The Agency for Construction and Development of Podgorica stated recently that the revision of the conceptual design for that regional road is in progress.
The Agency for Construction and Development replied to the "News" that "after receiving a positive opinion from the auditor, further elaboration will be started - contracting the development of the main project".
"After a positive review of the main project, an expropriation study will be carried out in order to resolve property-legal relations, which need to be resolved before the construction of the road," added the Agency.
