The fight against noise in bars has begun

Representatives of the local communities "Stari grad" and "Gospoština" the night before last evening after 23 p.m. together with a representative of the Association of Budva Restaurateurs, a team of the Communal Inspection and the Communal Police, as well as a representative of a restaurateur whose bars were recorded in the previous period broadcasting music at an intensity exceeding the legal limit borders, made a joint tour of catering establishments in the central city area.

"They visited all facilities, where loud music is broadcast, in the area from the Budva Hotel along the promenade all the way to the Old Town. Special attention is paid to all buildings in the Old Town area, which is evidently the most vulnerable to the problem of excessive noise in the evening hours. During the tour, the Municipal Inspection and the police measured the noise level with a specialized device in all catering establishments. In all locations where it was found that the noise level was exceeded, the music was reduced to the permitted level, and the owners and managers of the premises were warned that they must in the future adhere to the legal level when broadcasting music. In some establishments, the owners were warned that they should direct the loudspeakers in the other direction so as not to directly disturb the tenants in the neighboring buildings across the street", said a member of the Council of the Municipal Council "Stari grad" for "Vijesti". All owners and managers of catering establishments, as he added, have been specially warned that any possible exceeding of the emitted noise level in the future will be sanctioned with high fines prescribed by law, a maximum of two times.

"After that, according to the previously established agreement with the mayor Marko Tsarević, and in accordance with the legal powers, the Secretariat for the Economy will implement an unpopular measure prescribed by law, which means the automatic loss of work permit for that restaurateur. All those present expressed a clear position that they would not want any restaurateur to be in that position, but that it solely depends on them and that by consistently changing the law, they will enable their business to run smoothly, and the citizens of Budva and tourists to have adequate rest and a peaceful night's sleep. All those present expressed their satisfaction with the cooperative attitude of all caterers and their promise that in the future they will adhere to legal norms when it comes to noise emission. In the future, the municipal inspection and the police will regularly visit all catering facilities and check whether caterers adhere to the agreement established with representatives of local communities, associations of caterers and the Municipal Inspection," said Vučković.
