Last night, the project of the future promenade on that hill was presented to the citizens of Podgorica on Ljubović. Mayor Ivan Vuković announced that the main project will be completed in 15 days, when all the details will be known, and that a further procedure will be carried out after that.
He said that the promenade will be about 600 meters long, "beautifully designed and integrated into the natural environment." It will stretch along the edge of the hill, from the existing gate all the way to Crnogorski Serdar Boulevard on one side, that is, the courtyard of the "Sergije Stanić" school on the other.
"By realizing this project, we are realizing the dreams of those generations who sang about walks near Ljubović", said Vuković, as reported by the PG Bureau.
Chief city architect Filip Aleksić introduced the conceptual solution to the attendees. He said that there are rest benches and a mini amphitheater with deckchairs on the track, which is surrounded by greenery. The promenade will have info and smart boards that provide information about the location and the promenade. Water fountains, bicycle parking, and resting platforms are also planned. A basketball court and a children's playground are planned near the boulevard. The promenade will be illuminated by LED lighting, so, Aleksić points out, it will be accessible and safe for use in the evening hours. In addition, planting of new trees and other plants is planned.
"I am absolutely sure that we will get a new, high-quality space that Podgorica has been waiting for a long time and that it absolutely deserves," said the city's chief architect.
The Capital City reminds that the company "Komunalne usluge" in the previous period modernized the lighting in Ljubović, while the Housing Agency arranged a sports field and set up a table for table tennis. Work on the construction of 119 new free parking spaces with a sports field and a green area at the foot of the hill is also coming to an end.
