A masterpiece by Kana Radević
The Barutana Monument is one of the biggest landmarks in Montenegro, dedicated to the patriots who died in the Balkan Wars, and the First and Second World Wars.
The names and surnames of 459 people from Ješnja who died for freedom - 115 in the Balkans, 114 in the First World War and 230 in the Second World War - are part of the complex, which is the work of one of the greatest architects of Montenegro and the former Yugoslavia, Svetlana Kana Radević.

The monument is located on more than 1.400 square meters, with three separate units dedicated to the mentioned wars and a central feature 12 meters high, in front of which is the amphitheater.
The construction of the monument began in 1976 and lasted four years.
The monument was among the most famous works of Svetlana Kana Radević and was presented at the exhibition on Yugoslav architecture in one of the world's most famous museums of modern art, MoMA in New York in 2018.
Freedom about freedom
Painful memories of the horrors and victims of the Second World War in Ulcinj stood in the obelisk on the most prominent point of Pinješ - above Pristan
The monument powerfully dominates the attractive area above the Old Town and defiantly bears witness to the 172 victims of the anti-fascist movement in the southernmost city... It was never completed, there is no plaque with the names of the dead, it is defaced with graffiti...

"In honor of the fallen soldiers, numerous monuments were erected, the most famous of which is 'Sloboda' above Mala Plaža, which symbolizes brotherhood, unity, freedom and peace, and a monument to the patriots shot in 1943 under Bijela Gora", it is briefly written in an old brochure about Ulcinj monuments.
It was built in the eighties of the last century, according to the conceptual design of the Belgrade architect Miodrag Živković.
Bullet grain as a symbol of freedom
The monument on the Beran hill Jasikovac is the work of the famous architect Bogdan Bogdanović and is a symbol of the struggle for liberation that was fought in this area during the Balkan, First and Second World Wars, and was erected on the spot where on July 17, 1941, the German occupiers shot Beran patriots
The unique monument was erected in 1977.

The memorial complex on Jasikovac consists of the 18-meter-high Freedom Monument. It is in the shape of a coupe and resembles a bullet or bullet. Forty large blocks of polished granite with inscriptions and ornaments are arranged around the compartment, two hundred and fifty square meters of ornamentation are carved and 10.000 letters are written, which tell about the history of this region.
The Jasikovac memorial complex and the park area form a unique whole with a paved staircase, walkways and vaulted passages that lead to the central part of the monument, designed as an amphitheater.
The monument under the proud hill
The monument under Trebjesa Hill in Nikšić was erected at the place where 32 partisans and fighters against fascism were killed.
It is one of the most complex monuments in Yugoslavia with numerous abstract motifs and a particularly interestingly depicted pentagram.

The names of the fallen soldiers are engraved, including Ljubo Čupić and Joka Baletić.
The monument is the work of sculptor Ljubo Vojvodić, who also created numerous other monuments in Nikšić and Danilovgrad, and the works were completed in 1987.
