This date sublimates the greatest achievements of the Montenegrin state and its citizens, July 13, 1878, when Montenegro received international recognition at the Berlin Congress, but also July 13, 1941, when the people raised the first uprising in enslaved Europe against the fascist occupier, the president said. Liberal Party (LP) Andrija Popović.
He said this, as stated in the LP announcement, congratulating the citizens of Montenegro and the Montenegrin diaspora on the Day of Statehood and the Anti-Fascist Uprising.
"Montenegro at all times is at difficult and fateful turning points, faced with the preservation of its own identity, existence and duration, and so it is today. However, our duty is to preserve, inherit and leave as a legacy all those achievements and values that we and we inherited, building a better, more advanced and happier, secular and civil Montenegro," says Popović.
As he said, "May the flame of freedom, which is inseparably linked to July 13, be an inspiration and incentive to everyone in the constant struggle for Montenegro and all its people and its essential and true values".
"Today, more than ever, that duty is on all of us and it will be reflected in our ability to lead the state and society forward in unpredictable times, towards further reforms, democratization and progress," concluded Popović.
