Prime Minister Dritan Abazović congratulated the President of the Municipality, Anela Čekić, and the President of the Municipal Assembly, Bujar Hasanđekaj, on August 5, the Day of the Municipality of Gusinje.
"Gusinje is woven from colorful landscapes, which are an extraordinary development opportunity for the north-east of Montenegro. One of the primary goals of acquiring the status of a municipality is to stop the negative effects of economic migration. This goal should be a constant focus of the local self-government. Opening the border crossing with Albania and better connection with Podgorica, constitutes a turning point in the development of Gusinje. The richest sources of drinking water in the country, exceptional forest resources, availability all twelve months, benefits for the development of summer and winter, eco, rural, health and elite tourism, skiing potential, the possibility of developing fisheries, advantages for the farming method of growing and maintaining households and connecting medium and small food producers, so that the tourist product and offer are completely autochthonous, are only part of the resources and potential that still need to be capitalized by the realization of serious, sustainable projects", said Abazović.
He adds that the aforementioned should be joined by the financial impulse of the diaspora.
"Which continuously expresses interest and the need to invest, in order to more intensively share the perspective of life with the homeland. Recognizing an excellent transit position, by building a road that will connect your region with the people of Deč. All socio-political factors are obliged to give their full contribution so that Gusinje, , the region of Beran and Rožaj with its offer were more present and visible on the domestic and European markets. We are deeply convinced that the convenient transit position will especially come to the fore with the construction of the Plav - Dečani road and that this will bring many benefits to your region as well. The beginning of balancing development of our regions, infrastructural strengthening - better connection of all localities in the country and a broad socio-political consensus about the European future of Montenegro, certainly strengthen us in the belief that the next Day of the Municipality of Gusinje will, with reason, be even more festive," said Abazović.
