Despite the fact that the springs are at the hydrological minimum and that the Regional Water Supply will probably not be able to deliver additional amounts of water, the Ulcinj company "Vodovod i Kanalizacija" is not thinking about restrictions yet.
The municipality of Ulcinj currently receives 60 liters of water per second from the Regional Waterworks, while the production and delivery of water is at the level of 320 liters per second.
"We regularly measure, monitor and report on the yield of springs so that we can intervene in a timely manner in order to ensure a regular water supply. Taking into account the current situation, we are of the opinion that we will not be forced to introduce restrictions in the water supply", the company answered the questions of "Vijesti".
They reminded that due to the severe drought and lack of precipitation from March to today, all springs in the municipality of Ulcinj, especially the gravity springs, are at their hydrological minimum.
"The biggest fear, as far as disruption of the regular water supply is concerned, is related to oscillations in the electricity supply or a decrease in yield in the Klezna spring. The most worrisome is the notification of the Regional Waterworks that there is a high probability that they will not be able to supply us with the additional quantities of water that we requested", according to the responses from the Waterworks.
It is emphasized that the intermediate zone, from 30 to 55 meters above sea level, has a continuous problem in water supply due to the lack of reservoir space in the low zone region.
"We hope that this problem will be solved after the construction of the reservoir in the Đerana region as part of the water supply and waste water disposal project," the answer reads.
It is stated that Suka, Baldači Street or the former no. seven, Kodre, part of Đeran, Old Town and part of Liman.
