The Morača River in the center of Podgorica dawned cloudy this morning.
When asked about the cause of the problem, the president of the non-governmental organization "Ozon", Aleksandar Perović, said that he believed that the brown color appeared when the field was washed by the rain.
He adds that this happens almost every year and is more pronounced during low water levels. However, as he states, Morača's ecosystem suffers from the consequences of the uncontrolled disposal of waste materials and the discharge of wastewater.

"It should not be ignored that such situations are used for uncontrolled releases of various waste materials into the river, which would not be the first time," Perović told Vijesti.
He is sure that no one will swim in the cloudy water, but according to him, the safety of Morača should be determined by the competent institutions - both at the local and state level.
"The dynamics of water quality analysis are not known to us, that is a question for the authorities, but what is a problem is that the public does not have timely information about the causes of turbidity as well as water quality, which is an indicator of lack of transparency and carelessness of the competent institutions", concludes Perović.
