The new wave of covid, as well as the absence from work due to sick leave of employees at the Post Office, are some of the reasons why citizens have recently not received parcels at all or received them late.

This is what they told "Vijesta" yesterday from the Post Office of Montenegro, responding to the complaints of some citizens who claim that bills have not arrived at their addresses for some time, among other things. Some of them also claim that the postmen themselves told them that they were on vacation, and that no replacement was provided for them during that time.

"Untimely delivery in certain delivery areas is the result of several factors, first of all, the absence of workers due to the use of sick leave, i.e. a large number of employees of the Podgorica Regional Center, who are on this type of leave," said the Post.

They also estimate that, as they added, all those absences are not due to health reasons.

"That's why we will contact the competent institutions again to check their legality", they said.

The situation with mail delivery, as they said, is further complicated by the new wave of covid-19.

"All these circumstances result in about 25 percent of employees, who are absent from work for these reasons in the Podgorica Regional Center. It is not easy to provide a replacement for absent workers, since delivery implies knowledge of the region, addresses, and especially in the case of settlements that do not have numbers or senders/large users do not specify precise addresses", they told "Vijesti" from the Post Office.

As they said, in order to replace the absent workers, the Post Office has already hired a certain number of workers. They also claim that it is done continuously, in accordance with needs.

"We apologize to our users for the cases of untimely delivery and ask for your understanding with the assurance that the Post of Montenegro is making efforts to provide quality postal services to all its users. Our services carefully approach all user complaints and suggestions," the Post said.

Citizens are advised to contact them with specific questions at the customer center phone number 19895 or by e-mail at info@postacg.me.

According to data from the Annual Report on the work of the Post Office, in 2021, 192 employees used sick leave for up to 30 days, 60 employees were absent from work for up to 75 days, while 60 employees of the Post Office used sick leave for more than 125 days.

Of the 392 employees who used sick leave last year, 25 were women, who used the right to maternity leave. For all others, as stated in the report, the reason for absence from work is illness.

At the end of 2021, according to the report, the Post had a total of 1.019 employees. Of these, 911 have an indefinite contract, while last year 108 persons were employed on a fixed-term basis through employment agencies.

Last year, eight employees retired, and 44 signed a contract on mutual termination of employment.

Due to the large number of employees who use the right to leave from work, the Post of Montenegro, according to the then report, in 2016 introduced the practice of paying incentives to diligent workers who do not use sick leave.

Some bills can be checked and paid online

With access to the Internet, an open bank account with enough money, citizens can also check the bills of individual service providers and then pay online.

Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, "Vodovod" and "Čistoća" from Podgorica, all telecommunication operators, allow you to view your bills online.

Payment is possible in several ways - through the website of the Post Office, by opening a permanent account in the bank, using e-banking services, paying through a mobile application, or, as in the case of Podgorica's "Vodovod" and "Čistoća", through the website of those city companies.

Most of these services were made possible with the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, when the recommendation of the competent authorities to adopt measures against the spread of the virus was to not go out unless absolutely necessary, and to do everything possible online.
