The environmental incident, which happened this morning around 7.30:XNUMX a.m. when a large amount of waste water was released on the part of Bojana that belongs to neighboring Albania, above the Saint Nicholas watchtower, threatened the already fragile ecological situation on both branches of the river.
Several fishermen from Ulcinj told "Vijesti" that at that time it was not possible to fish at the fork due to the unbearable stench.
"This has been done continuously at night since the beginning of summer. It is waste water from the collector for the town of Velipoja, which flows into Bojana. That waste water, mostly from the fork, goes through our backwater," claims one of the fishermen who took the photos. from the spot.
The fishermen are asking the state authorities to announce the incident which, they claim, destroys the flora and fauna of Bojana, but also endangers the health of fishermen and tourists who like to swim in the river.
