From September 5 to 15, consumers in Herceg Novi will be without water supply via the Plata, due to the overhaul of energy equipment and inspection of the supply tunnel between the Trebišnjica and Dubrovnik hydroelectric plants.
As announced by the Herceg Novi Waterworks and Sewerage Company, the emptying of the Trebinje-Plat hydrotunnel will begin tonight at 22:15 p.m., and it should be expected by September 12 at 00:XNUMX a.m. at the latest that water will be released in full capacity into the Herceg Novi system, after the mandatory of treatment for the hygienic correctness of drinking water in the "Mojdež" filter station.
For this reason, RTHN reports, the tunnel will be emptied and the flow of water to Herceg Novi will be stopped, from the Plat water station via the pipeline through Konavle.
For the consumer supply system in Herceg Novi, water from local sources will be available until September 15, the most significant share being Opačica, as well as the amount from the Regional Water Supply system.
According to the agreement with the Regional Waterworks of Montenegrin Coast, 50 liters per second will be supplied, which will put into operation for the first time a new part of the regional supply system from Tivat to Herceg Novi.
While the restrictions are in force, the total amount of water available will be 240 liters per second.
As the available quantities of water will not be sufficient for the continuous supply of the entire municipality, all altitude zones, it is necessary to introduce a restrictive regime, with the fact that the settlements of Kamenari and Bijela will be outside of that regime.
The water delivery plan in parts of the municipality will be according to the schedule:
- For the settlement from Sutorina to Savina from 7:00 a.m. to 09:00 a.m. and from 19:00 p.m. to 21:00 p.m.
- settlements from Meljina to Bijela will have water from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and from 17:00 p.m. to 19:00 p.m.
- Žvinje will be supplied with a cistern as needed, as well as other settlements that cannot get water for technical reasons.
Vodovod announced that if there are significant changes in the water supply system, consumers will be notified in a timely manner.
They appeal to consumers to use water rationally.
The Water and Sewerage Department appeals to pool owners, of which there are 200 in Herceg Novi, not to fill their pools with water from the city system from September 5 to 15.
