The Ministry of Education announced that within the framework of the Program "Towards Supported Development and Inclusive Competences", which is implemented in cooperation with the UNICEF office in Montenegro, an agreement was reached with day care centers on the provision of additional professional support to children with disabilities and difficulties in development.
The support refers to children who are included in the regular educational process in kindergartens and primary schools, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Education.
The program, as stated, is oriented towards the promotion of inclusive values and practices at the school level, as well as strengthening the competencies of professionals in the education sector for individualized and innovative practices.
One of the goals is to add and strengthen additional professional support for the development of vital and practical skills in cooperation with other sectors.
The Ministry of Education announced that they have drawn up guidelines on the use of local resources to support the community.
"After the initial analysis of the needs, possibilities and options in the day care centers and the prepared guidelines, training was organized for the day care centers on the topic "Early intervention, intensive interaction, assistive technology" in RC "Kotor". After that, we conducted advisory training for healthcare professionals (pediatricians, visiting nurses) for early intervention in the premises of RC "1. June", they stated in the announcement.
The aforementioned Program, they say, relies on the results of the Program implemented during 2021, as well as regular monitoring of the needs of kindergartens and schools.
They add that the results were achieved following the recommendations of the Report on the Implementation of the Inclusive Education Strategy for 2021, and the Cooperation Program of the Government of Cne Gora and the UN system.
They state that counseling was also conducted in parallel for representatives of guidance commissions, centers for social work from the same municipalities that are included in the program of additional professional support.
It was announced that a consultation was carried out for the inclusion of inclusive measures and activities in the annual school plans based on the application of the Index for inclusiveness. An accessible format model was developed and counseling was conducted for IT coordinators of all schools with the aim of creating online content and work material in this way.
