American citizen evacuated from the cruise ship at the entrance to Boka

The American citizen was evacuated from the cruise ship "Norwegian Gem", which is sailing after this number reported an emergency situation - a medical alert on board at around 10.30:XNUMX am.

UPSUL's SAR-5 waited for the cruiser about five miles from the entrance to Boka where it picked up the passenger.

While it was about 30 miles southwest of the entrance to Boka, the cruiser of the American-Norwegian company Norwegian Cruise Line sent the so-called Medico call for help due to the serious injury of one of the passengers on board.

The call was received by the Maritime Operations Center of the Administration of Maritime Safety and Port Management of Montenegro in Bar, so UPSUL immediately sent its fastest rescue vessel SAR-5 to meet the cruiser that continued sailing towards Boka.

Urgent evacuation and medical treatment of the injured passenger from the cruise ship was requested.

It is about an elderly person, a US citizen, who, as reported, has an open leg fracture with pronounced bleeding, - Assistant Director UPSUL for Search and Rescue at Sea, Žarko Lukšić, told "Vijesta".

She will then be quickly transferred by UPSUL to the port of Zelenika, where the injured American woman will be taken over by the ambulance team from Herceg Novi, which is already on standby.
