The promenade next to Tara and the infrastructure near the free climbing range in Biočinovići have been unsuccessfully protected from destruction by the authorities for years. The boardwalk was targeted by vandals right after it opened in the fall of 2014, and the breaking of furniture and the accumulation of trash next to the paths continue to this day.

Immediately after the opening of that attractive part next to the "tear of Europe", metal inserts were taken out of several trash cans, and the Municipal Police prevented fellow citizens from stealing a slide from the children's playground within that facility.

The Communal Police say that sometimes they succeed in this plan, and sometimes they are powerless. The attitude of fellow citizens towards the valuable part of Kolasin's tourist offer is unclear, they say.

"On the children's playground, which is an integral part of the promenade, a few years ago we found several members of a family from a nearby neighborhood trying to take the slide to their house. They came with a complete set of tools, intending to unscrew the slide from the base. Metal inserts from garbage cans the locals used them, as far as I heard, to feed the pigs. That's why, for some time, the remaining parts of the garbage cans, as well as the swing from the playground, were safely removed," recalls the actions of fellow citizens, an officer of the Communal Police.

It often happened that the area around the promenade was filled with piles of, mostly construction, but also other types of waste. Tree seedlings were destroyed just a few months after they were planted. In the Communal Company, they claim that they are continuously fighting the irresponsibility of the people of Kolašin. Wild landfills are removed several times a month, from that and other public areas. The area around the promenade was cleaned several times by volunteer actions, but the results of these efforts were almost never visible for more than two or three days.

The local administration hopes that the recent advertisement for public works contractors, which includes the hiring of two employees for the maintenance of promenades and parks, will partially solve the problem. With the awareness of individual fellow citizens, they admit, however, it will be difficult to fight.

Even worse is the attitude of the people of Kolašin towards another building, also built with a foreign donation. The climbing rocks in Biočinovići, three kilometers from the city, are a tourist attraction and a favorite place for fans of extreme sports. Unfortunately, you can't get to the rocks these days, because the bridge over the river Svinjača, which leads from the main road to the climbing area, has been completely burned.

Before the bridge was burned, the rest of the infrastructure near the rocks had been destroyed several times over the past few years. The canopy of the platform was damaged and most of the material it was made of was stolen.

"The board on the access road to the rock was demolished three times, graffiti of inappropriate content was written, a fire was set under the platform with a canopy and finally, now that "job" is finished. This action significantly reduces the chance for the development of Kolašin as a tourist destination , and thus the chances of development are reduced. We invite all people of good will to contribute in order to put an end to these and similar destructive actions, which cause a lot of damage due to fraud or the acquisition of small material benefits", said Mikan Medenica from the NGO " Nature".
