The President of the Municipality of Plav Nihad Canović called on the Public Company for National Parks of Montenegro (JPNPCG) to resolve the issue of sending the transferred mass to the owners of the private forest as soon as possible.
It was announced from the Municipality of Plav that Canović received the owners of private forests on the territory of the Prokletije National Park (NP) at their request, with whom he discussed the current challenges related to, as they stated, the inadequate relationship of JPNPCG.
"Namely, from NP Prokletije they made a remittance of trees for felling, but they did not issue a decision on felling a forest in private property, on the basis of which they would pay the tax, which makes it impossible for the owners of private forests to ship the remitted mass", it was announced from the Municipality of Plav.
The announcement states that Canović reminded that he had already pointed out the above-mentioned problem and made a public appeal for timely action in connection with this topic.
"I warned about this problem a month ago and requested the authorities to react as quickly as possible, in order to find an adequate solution in a timely manner and to meet the demands and needs of the population. However, there are still obstacles that cause dissatisfaction of the local population and put everyone in an unenviable position those who have private ownership of forests on the territory of Prokletije National Park. Therefore, I once again point out the necessity of solving this problem and call for the fastest possible reaction of the JPNPCG administration and competent ministries," Canović pointed out.
The Municipality of Plav said that the owners of private forests in the "Prokletije" National Park requested that a decision be made as soon as possible by which they would pay the tax, which, as added in the statement, would enable them to ship the timber before the autumn rains, otherwise the timber would be remitted the mass will significantly lose value in case of shipment the following year.
