The first meters of asphalt were installed this morning on the road Bistrica-Gubavac in the municipality of Bijelo Polje.
Work on the reconstruction of the road, which is part of the Đalovića Cave project, continued after several blockades by the locals.
Before the company Štrabag continued the work, the companies Crnogorski Telekom and Ramel completed their part of the obligations.
The work on that road was supposed to be completed by September last year.
Locals repeatedly pointed out that they cannot live on dust, which is why they threatened to file lawsuits in court.
The President of the Local Community of Bistrica, Sakib Čindrak, said that he was satisfied that the investor and the contractor gave in to the demands and roadblocks in Gubavac.
"Everything is going according to plan, as agreed at the meeting of the representatives of the locals, the Municipality of BIjelo Polje and the contractors in the Directorate for Capital Projects. They are satisfied with the current dynamics and we will monitor the situation on the ground," he said, adding that the asphalting of the first phase in one kilometer long.
The first meters were celebrated by the locals with a rich feast, by setting up skewers on which lamb was roasted.
