The water from the city's water supply is not suitable for drinking, so it should be boiled, settled and filtered before use, announced the Bistrica Waterworks from Bjelopolje.
"The results of the test at 7 o'clock show increased turbidity of the water at the source of the Bistrica, from which we supply drinking water to users in the area of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje. The turbidity occurred due to heavy rainfall in the catchment area of the source of the river Bistrica," reads the announcement of the Bistrica Waterworks.
Vodovod points out that in accordance with the recommendations and instructions of the Institute for Public Health of Montenegro, given the increased turbidity, it is recommended that consumers who are supplied with water from the city's water supply network boil, settle and filter the water before use.
"Please note that water chlorination is carried out regularly and increased in the chlorine content from 0,40 to 0,50 mg per liter, which ensures the microbiological integrity of the water", they state from the Waterworks and add that the technical services of the "Bistrica" Waterworks regularly monitor the state of turbidity and chlorination of water, and that they will promptly inform consumers (users) of any changes.
